    Hunter Pet Builds (Patch 4.3)

    This area has builds for hunter pets. With 4.0.1 pets have changed a lot you now should be specing your pet just like you would be specing your hunter. Pets can spec'd to increase DPS, armor, tanking skills, stun skills and so forth. Usually your pet should complement the build you are using as a player. The following is a list of several builds players are recommending. Please note there are 3 different classes of pets and each has there own talent trees. All pets in cunning will share the same tree for instance.

     

    Each type of pet will have different specials such as bats have sonic blast, serpents have poison spit and so forth.

     

    If you are raiding, pick the pet the best benefits the raid. What does this mean? Well each pet provides different buffs, figure out what your raid is missing and pick the pet that fills up that gap.

     

    If you are not raiding pick a pet based on your needs, tank, dps etc..

    Please note I do not list builds for every type of pet, this would be a waste as all pets in a class share the same talent tree. For example a cat that is in the Ferocity class and shares the same talent tree as a Raptor(as it is in the ferocity class) so a max DPS talent build for one would be the same for one as it is for the other, the only difference between the two would be the special ability the pet type has. So if you cannot find the build for your type of pet just use one that is for your class of pet that does what you are looking for.

    Hunter Pet Builds

    This area lists hunter pet talent builds for World of Warcraft. There is 3 classes of pets: cunning, ferocity and tenacity. Here are some builds to help you choose and spec your pet.

    Builds For Cunning Pets: Utility - PvP, CC

    Cunning pets, like spiders, have a mix of offensive and defensive abilities and are particularly useful in Battlegrounds and Arenas.

    Pets in this class are: Bats, Birds of Prey, Chimaeras, Dragonhawks, Nether Rays, Ravagers, Serpents, Silithids, Spiders, Spore Bats and Wind Serpents

    Here are the current pet builds listed for cunning pets:

     

    Raid BM Cunning Pet DPS Spec (21 Point Spec) - This is the standard beast master build used for cunning pets when raiding. They type of cunning pet you use should change depending on what buff you or your raid needs.

     

    Raid Cunning DPS Pet Build (17 Point Spec) - Can use any cunning class pet, pick the pet you want to use depending on buff you need.

     

    Builds For Ferocity Pets: DPS - Raids

    Ferocious pets, like cats, can dish out damage but can't take it as well. Ferocity pets are generally preferred in raids because they have more direct damage buffs.

    Pets in this class are: Carrion Birds, Cats, Core Hounds, Devilsaurs, Hyenas, Moths, Raptors, Spirit Beasts, Tallstriders, Wasps and Wolves

    Here are the current pet builds listed for ferocity pets:

     

    Raid Ferocity BM Pet DPS Spec - (21 Point Spec) Max DPS pet for BM builds. Use any ferocity class pet you want, just pick the pet you want to use depending on the buffs that pet provides.

     

    Raid Ferocity Pet DPS Build - (17 Point Spec) This has all the DPS talents needed for max pet DPS. Can use any ferocity class pet, pick the pet you want to use depending on the specials that pet provides.

     

    Builds For Tenacity Pets: Tank - Solo, Raid AOE dps

    Tenacious pets, like turtles, are more defensive and can occupy an enemy's attention while you stay at range.

    Pets in this class are: Bears, Boars, Crabs, Crocolisks, Gorillas, Rhinos, Scorpids, Turtles, Warp Stalkers and Worms

    Here are the current pet builds listed for tenacity pets:

     

    BM Worm AOE DPS Spec (21 Point Spec) - The only tenacity pet that should be used for raiding is the worm for AOE dps on trash or the Shale Spider for the buff it gives to the raid(if needed). Make sure to have growl turned off.

     

    Solo Tenacity Pet Build (17 Point Spec) - This has all of the survivability skills needed to keep your pet up for as long as posible. This does not have much in the way of agro or dps talents so give your pet time to get agro on targets.

     

    BM Solo Tenacity Pet Build (21 Point Spec) - This has the survivability talents of the build above but also has some agro generation talents.

     

    BM Raid Tenacity Turtle Tank Threat Build (21 Point Spec) - Turtle tanks are the pet of choice to tank raids as they take less damage than other pets. This build has focus on threat talents.
